On-site Staff Review: 11th Anniversary of the HWPL September 18th World Peace Summit

Hello, friends! On September 18–19, 2025, South Korea hosted the 11th Anniversary of the HWPL September 18th World Peace Summit. The main event lasted two days, but commemorative events will continue in major cities across 78 countries until October! The theme of this event was "Unity for Peace, Humanity's Mission to Achieve It Together."

The subtitle alone made it clear that peace cannot be achieved solely by the efforts of a few peace activists; it requires the collective attention and unity of all humanity!

As an HWPL Supporter ONE, I participated in this event as a member of the film crew!

It was a meaningful experience to be able to capture the vivid scene up close and experience the message of peace firsthand. In particular, I often heard stories of the Korean War from my grandmother, a displaced person, and had longed for the peaceful unification of the Korean Peninsula. Therefore, HWPL's practical actions resonated deeply with me!

With high hopes of attending the event, I set off from Busan on the day itself. 

The morning was cloudy and cool, but by the afternoon the skies cleared and it turned sunny—a change in weather that seemed to bless the WARP Summit, leaving a strong impression on me.

The atmosphere was already festive, even in the front yard of the venue!

Approximately 800 people, including former and current presidents, prime ministers, National Assembly speakers, the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, ministers, and leaders from the fields of education, religion, media, and youth, visited Korea.

While working as a film crew, the most striking thing I noticed was that this was not just a simple commemorative event. Everyone spoke in their own language, but the message was unified! "We must stop war and institutionalize peace." At this moment, I was convinced that HWPL has been walking a practical path to peace for the past 11 years, not just a slogan.

As I left the event, seeing the bright faces of the participants, I thought, "Small actions, when combined, can change the world." The 11th Anniversary of the HWPL September 18th World Peace Summit was not only a time to celebrate the past 11 years but also to commit to the path ahead.

This reminded me once again that peace does not start with grand words, but with small, meaningful actions. I look forward to seeing the fruits of the 12th anniversary and how it will pave the way toward world peace and the peaceful unification of the Korean Peninsula. ♥️
