[HWPL & Issues] "D-2 : Just Two days Left Until the 10th Anniversary of the 9.18 World Peace Summit!"

 Don’t you think the scenery of this place, with the blue sky and golden fields, is just stunning at this time of year? 

It reminds me of a painting from the Renaissance era. :D

When I see the flag of this country, I can’t help but think of the picture above. 

The country I’m referring to is none other than Ukraine, often called the world’s largest breadbasket.

Ukraine, a land with vast fields where flowers bloom all year round and an abundance of delicious food is produced.

However, that image of Ukraine has vanished, and now the country lies in ruins, torn apart in many places. 

With Russia's sudden invasion of the once-peaceful Ukraine, fathers, uncles, brothers, and sons have been forced into the battlefield.

They were thrust into the brutal war to protect their country and families. War, in this way, shatters peace, steals happiness, and surrounds everything with despair.

But an important fact is that both those who start the war and those who suffer from it share the same sense of loss.

While wars may have winners and losers, they leave permanent scars on both sides—that’s what war does.

On May 25th, just as summer was about to begin, 

I sent a letter of comfort to someone in Ukraine through the "8th Anniversary of the Declaration of World Peace DPCW" event, hosted by HWPL at Olympic Park in Seoul.

I pressed my hopes onto the paper, wishing for the war to end soon, that they would not suffer, and that they would regain the peace and happiness they once had.

Through its May peace event, the non-governmental peace organization HWPL (Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light) has spent the last 10 years circling the globe 32 times, working to ban war and establish peace by promoting peace events and advocating for the enactment of international laws.

In particular, the Peace International Law DPCW Article 10, Clause 38 is the only absolute international law that can end wars and bring peace to the world. It is now on the brink of being submitted to the UN, thanks to the support of many nations.

Now, just two weeks away, on September 18th,

HWPL will hold the "10th Anniversary of the 9.18 World Peace Summit." During this event, HWPL aims to encourage global support for the submission of the DPCW International Law and present ways to leave peace as a legacy for future generations.

HWPL’s Chairman Man-hee Lee, a veteran of the Korean War, is expected to speak at the event, sharing the horrors of war, the tragic sacrifices of young people, and the innocent suffering of women and children. He will also emphasize the necessity of the DPCW International Law and the vision for realizing peace.
